Lessons
Riding is for everyone! Navigating the horse world as a newcomer can be very difficult whether you’re a parent of a new rider, a new rider yourself or an experienced rider. We are ready to come alongside you and help you achieve your riding goals whatever they may be.
Boarding
Come enjoy country life! Full care board includes grain and hay and offers flexible full turnout living arrangements tailored to the needs of each horse. Two arenas and a jump field with a trail ensures you always have space to ride.
Birthday Parties
Special days are better with ponies! Let us help make your horse lover’s birthday an event to remember! Riding and non-riding options are available to accommodate various budgets and needs.
Hunters
A strong foundation for every rider starts in the Hunter discipline. Develop an effective position and aids on the flat and over jumps while helping your horse move his best.
Jumpers
The basics are all solid, got a need for speed, and ready to be judged by the clock instead of an actual judge at shows? Time to give Jumpers a try.
Horsemanship
No matter the age or skill level, taking care of your horse is always the top priority. Students will learn various aspects of horse care and ground work in conjunction with their riding skills.
Showing
Opportunities to compete in horse shows are available to all students including those who do not own or lease their own horse. There is something fun for every level rider!
About Us
The team here at the Nomad Farms spent years searching for the right place to enjoy the relationship between horse and human- something that every person should have the opportunity to explore. During our own wanderings, we discovered that there are a lot of you looking for that special barn home where horsemanship comes first and where every kid and every horse matters. Once we found our beautiful 40 acre property in April 2023, the pieces fell into place and Nomad Farms became a reality!
Our trainer Lauren Vanderbilt lives onsite with her husband Alex who oversees the facility and maintenance. Lauren began riding in 1999, started teaching in 2009 and has been living the good life training hunter/jumper kids and ponies in the DFW area ever since! Partnering with the farm owners to create a place of growth, peace, and joy for each horse and rider is a dream come true for her.
As you explore our website for more info, feel free to send us a message if you have any questions- we would be thrilled to chat with you! We are excited beyond words to share our beautiful farm with you and to welcome you into our barn family!
Top-Notch Facility
Our farm is run with the horses’ happiness and well-being as the top priority. The twelve stall barn has fans in each stall as well as the aisle, a wash rack with hot/cold water, windows in every stall, separate boarder and lesson tack rooms, a restroom with full shower, and a fly spray system. The 10 acre main turnout pasture has two run-in sheds and a pond. For horses with different needs or preferences, we also have a variety of paddocks in different sizes all with shelters for 1-2 horses each. Our riding amenities include:
120 x 100 outdoor arena with sand jump footing
120 x 80 covered arena with synthetic jump footing
14 acre pasture with large jump field, perimeter hacking trail, and pond
Meet the Horses
Our lesson horses are the heartbeat of the farm. Each one is unique, and though everyone will end up with a special favorite, it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to ride a variety of horses as they each strengthen and teach their riders in different ways.
